The next version of the iPhone is expected to hit the market later this year, possibly in September. Some iPhone analysts are now speculating that the next generation of the iPhone could come in two different sizes, both of which will have larger display areas.
According to reports, one will have a 4.7 inch display, the other a 5.5 inch display. The iPhone 5 currently has a 4 inch display.
Rumors of this larger sized display were sparked by some leaked photographs of the specs of the new phone. Nikkei, a business publication that reports on technology in Asia, posted the photographs showing the new specs.
It seems that Apple wanted to jump on the large phone bandwagon with their newest designs, following the footsteps set by the Samsung Galaxy Note. Referred to as “phablets,” oversized handsets are now in high demand because they combine the function of a tablet and a phone in one. Users see more on the screen than they could with traditional phones, and they can still make phone calls when they need to.
Remember when smartphones first came out and the goal was to make them as thin and tiny as possible? That no longer seems to be the case.
The new phone is expected to have a more enhanced display resolution. Apple is also expected to have better mapping and health enhancement opportunities into their upcoming creation.
