Among the many smartphones revealed at CES 2015 was the Studio Energy from Blu, capable of staying charged for a full four days of standard use. The long-lasting capabilities of the phone are the result of a massive 5,000 mAh battery pack that is far more powerful than the Droid Turbo’s 3,900 mAh.
The company claims this battery allows for up to 52 hours of talk time and 45 days of standby time.
The large battery pack doesn’t just make the phone more convenient to carry. It also gives it the ability to charge other devices. The charge output will be limited by the actual charge on the battery, but it still makes the phone more versatile on a day to day basis.
The powerful battery seems to be one of the few selling features for this phone. It comes with a typical 5 inch display, but it only puts out 720p resolution. The phone also works off a low-end 1.3 GHz processor, which is partly why the battery lasts for so long. Other ordinary features for the Studio Energy include an 8 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front camera, 8 GB of storage, and 1 GB of RAM.
When the Studio Energy hits shelves at the end of this month, it will be priced at $179. The low price point should make this phone ideal for travelers and outdoor enthusiasts who need a simple device to take with them between charge times.
