Best Holiday Smartphone Deals

Even if you missed Black Friday and Cyber Monday, never fear. You can still get a great deal on smartphones this holiday season.

It is unlikely Apple lovers will find massive sales on the iPhone X (though some carriers are offering deals, but you will need to trade in your old device). Analyst Jun Zhang estimated that Apple sold as many as 6 million iPhone X phones from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, which is a massive increase over normal sales. In a four-day period, Apple usually sells 1.75 million phones. As long as they are this popular, it is unlikely you will find some of the significant price cuts you can get on Android or Windows phones.

Samsung Galaxy S8

On the Microsoft online store, shoppers can get the Samsung Galaxy S8 for $724.99, which is more than $200 off the regular price of $930. The phone features a 12MP Dual Pixel camera and 64GB of storage (expandable to 256GB with a MicroSD). If you purchase from Microsoft, the phone comes “unlocked,” which means you can use it on any network.

Huawei Honor 8

Amazon is offering this 64GB Android phone for $318, which is a $132 savings. The Honor 8 camera features 12MP Dual lenses and wide aperture model. The company said the battery can also be charged to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Sony Xperia XZ

Best Buy is having a Cyberweek sale on the Sony Xperia. Not only is the phone waterproof, it also takes crisp photos due to its 23MP camera, triple sensor technology and five-axis stabilization. It has 32GB of storage, which can be expanded to 288GB with a MicroSD card. Normally selling for $499.99, you can get it this week for $374.99.

Blackberry KEYone

Best Buy is also offering the latest Blackberry for $449.99, which is $100 off the regular price. This unlocked phone has a 12MP camera, a smart keyboard, and 32GB of storage, which can be expanded to 2TB with a microSD card.

All four major carriers are also offering deals this holiday season.

  • AT&T is offering a BOGO deal on the Samsung Galaxy S8. The $750 price of one device will be returned to you in the form of a credit statement. When AT&T users buy the ZTE Axon M, they will receive a $100 prepaid Visa.
  • Sprint is offering new customers 50% off their Samsung Galaxy S8 and Moto Z2 Force or deals on these phones when existing customers sign up for an 18-month Sprint Flex Lease.
  • T-Mobile is offering LG phones for BOGO. If you add a line to your plan and make two payments, you can receive a prepaid MasterCard for up to $850.
  • Verizon is offering up to $300 off iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X when you trade in an eligible device and sign up for their Unlimited data plan.
