Comcast and Philips have partnered to help Xfinity Home customers manage their home security and automation experience from their phones.
Xfinity customers can control their Philips Hue lighting system through the Xfinity Home mobile app. They can also create automated rules to synchronize their lights to their home security and other smart home functions. For example, users can set their lights to turn on or off automatically when they arm their security system. They can also set their lights to turn on when it’s dark, so it looks as if someone is home.
“With the Philips Hue family of products, our customers can customize their lighting according to their own needs and daily routines,”said Daniel Herscovici, senior vice president and general manager of Xfinity Home. “They can also set up simple automated commands, such as turning on the hallway lights when they enter the home and disarm the system.”
The service will not only be available on mobile devices. Xfinity users can also control their home security system from their X1 voice remote. This partnership with Philips also means customers will soon be able to control their lights with their remote.
